When the big day finally arrived, luck was truly on our side. The weather was sublime, with a stunning blue sky, the lake adorned with delicate little flowers, and the Matterhorn reflected perfectly in the still waters of Stellisee. I waited discreetly, pretending to photograph the fish in the lake, as Zackary led Carolyna to the spot I told him to go.
Even though I’ve done this before, I always feel a wave of nerves during surprise proposals! It’s such a brief but profoundly meaningful moment, and there’s always the pressure to capture every emotion perfectly. As the two of them stood there, they looked like they had stepped out of a postcard. Then came the big moment—Carolyna said yes! Bravo to the fiancé! (She had the most perfect white nails done… girl, we know she knew!)
Being a witness to such a powerful moment in a couple’s life never fails to move me deeply. Afterward, we spent hours wandering around, taking photos with the majestic Matterhorn watching over us. To my surprise, Carolyna and Zackary invited me to join them for a meal, a gesture that truly touched me. Sharing rösti and sausages together felt so authentically Swiss and made the experience even more special.
